To Post or Not to Post

Social media is here to stay. If you haven’t realized that now…let me encourage to start now!

A good rule of thumb is to post photos, articles, memes, etc., that enhance your image. These posts should tell someone, a friend, a colleague, a future employer, who you are and what matters to you. I was think of the acronym, WWJD. For me, I think if Jesus saw my social media feed what would he think? Even if you share my similar views on the Son of God, think of someone who is important to you. Perhaps your grandfather, your parent, your child, or a highly respected friend. What would they think of the image you present online?

Second, what ever you post do not post when angry or upset. Being upset, angry, and mad are natural feelings to have. Just know that in time those feelings go away, the posts you posted while feeling those feelings don’t always go away. People remember posts and they may take a snapshot of your angry post. These snapshots may come up in the future and a most inconvenient time for you. My advice: be smart. Think about your image. Work through those angry and upset feelings off line and privately.
